In this outstanding silent play the Eurydice actors transport us to the magical world of Charlie Chaplin, to rediscover the greatest film moments and multi-faceted genius of this legendary character.
"Charlie Chaplin as the 'Little Tramp' was unconventional, a sort of 'disabled' character since he was always 'out of sync'. The relationship between this 'myth' and our actors is one of affinity. Charlie is one of them. |
|
Staging Chaplin is like staging the overwhelming desire to live
that drives us all." Michel Reynaud
Eurydice is a professional theatre group specialising in show production, set and costume design, and services provided to companies in the field of the arts in particular. It offers "disabled workers" access to theatre-related jobs, as part of a new French ESAT initiative, aimed at integrating people with disabilities into the mainstream job market. Eurydice now has its own auditorium and offers a varied annual programme, open to all audiences.
Silent, burlesque and poetic theatre, for all audiences from 7 years of age.
Performance time: 75 minutes without an interval.
