This play is extraordinary funny and is a colouful fantasy. The Father Ubu, auhtoritatively performed by Vojin Peric, blind Croatian player, is going to dethrone the king of Poland, to implement unreasonable reforms, to be threatened by the Emperor of Russia and will finally escape by boat with his accomplices. For which location ? For neverland.

From the press :
« This play, excellently produced by Ivan Plazibat, seems to have invigorated all members of the New Life company proving that there are no lead and secondary characters but that this company performs the best when all of its members are only one on stage. Collaboration between the young producer Ivan Plazibat and the experienced players from New Life ha turned to fertility : from a moving and vocal perspective, King Ubu is the best work I have ever seen since fifty years. Plazibat has achieved a feat of strength by making the blind player Vojin P eric perform King Ubu with so much light and shade ». Natasa Godevic – critique Croate.

New Life is a company essentially composed of blind players. In Croatia, it is officially recognised. It was created in 1948 in a small town called Samobor, near Zagreb. Since 1948, it has produced more than a 100 plays and performed over 3000 plays. It can use since 1956 a theatre in Zagreb where since 1999 it organizes each year an international festival dedicated to companies composed of blind players. Its repertory is highly diversified : Greek tragedy, classical theatre, surrealist theatre, theatre of the absurd.
