"The eyes are in the heart, the light is in the mind and only determination makes a man" , such is the motto of the Xamlé group .
Founded in 1990 in Dakar , Xamlé won fame on the music scene and is specialised in modernised Mbalax , a very popular lively and rhythmical music, in addition to Folk and acoustic sounds. The group's choice is perceptive. According to chorus member Ndaraw Diop, " we don't want people to catalogue our music as disabled music, but we would rather it be seen as universal and accessible to all ". Modern and traditional music . Xamlé is made up of sight-impaired musicians and a physically disabled chorus member.
